Americus, GA January 26, 2026 — Downtown Americus will once again come alive with wine, chocolate, and community as the Women’s Wine & Chocolate Walk returns on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. This beloved event marks its ninth year, having first launched in 2018 as a creative way to increase foot traffic downtown while encouraging shopping, dining, and connection among residents and visitors alike.
What began as a 200-ticket event has grown into a signature downtown experience, now offering 600 tickets and selling out each year. Attendees travel from across Georgia and beyond—some even flying in from as far away as Ohio—to take part in this unique celebration that blends local flavor with small-town charm.
Check-in for the event will take place at the historic Rylander Theatre, an iconic downtown landmark. Upon arrival, attendees will have their ID checked, ticket scanned, and will receive their event goody bag before heading out to enjoy the walk.
The Women’s Wine & Chocolate Walk features wines exclusively from Georgia wineries, paired with handcrafted chocolates made right here in Americus at Koinonia Farm. Each participating downtown business is assigned a wine and chocolate pairing and is fully equipped to host the perfect tasting experience.
Americus Main Street recruits volunteers to pour wine and serve chocolate at each location. These volunteers include local leaders such as the Mayor, City Council members, Police Chief, Sheriff, and other community partners, as well as wine enthusiasts and residents simply looking to give back.
Attendees receive a passport identifying all wine and chocolate tasting locations, along with other helpful information about unique activities happening downtown during the event. Each guest also receives a goody bag that includes a keepsake tasting cup tumbler and special items from downtown businesses, such as discount coupons and promotional goodies. In addition, Americus Main Street sponsors a complimentary charcuterie box for each attendee, adding another delicious touch to the experience.
The Americus Visitor Center serves as a central hub in downtown. Guests can enjoy a photo booth, which has been a popular feature each year and has been kicked up a notch for 2026. The Visitor Center will also host the registration table for door prizes, offer Americus souvenirs, provide restroom access, and feature Koinonia Farm chocolates available for purchase.
Participants stroll through downtown at their own pace, tasting wine, sampling chocolate, shopping local boutiques, and enjoying downtown dining options. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy lunch before the event and stay afterward for dinner, further supporting local restaurants.
Adding to the convenience and appeal of the event is the Historic Windsor Hotel, located in the heart of downtown. Attendees can book a stay and simply step outside to enjoy everything the event and downtown Americus have to offer.
“The Women’s Wine & Chocolate Walk was created to bring people downtown in a fun, welcoming way while supporting our small businesses,” said Qaijuan Willis, Main Street & DDA Director. “Nine years later, it continues to do just that—bringing our community together, showcasing our local merchants, and creating an experience that visitors truly look forward to year after year. At a time when small businesses across the country need meaningful support, this event provides a much-needed boost while celebrating everything that makes Downtown Americus special.”
